Excellent
Really, just a great 20 watt amp. Reduction works well. DI works well. The volume sensitivity and breakup/distortion is easy to dial in and with the voice and channel foot switch, it's a bly wish, a higher quality, metal foot switch. Otherwise, great amp great with a great look.
Love It...Highly Recommend!
I have the head/cab version, but I imagine it's the same circuit, tubes, tone etc. as the combo. I would love to get this combo but can't really justify it right now. I am an at-home, bedroom player and the 2 watt power reduction option is perfect; I don't notice any loss of tone. I've played a Tele, a Strat, Les Paul with various humbuckers, single coils and P90s. All sound fantastic!… read more To my neophyte ears, I can get from Albert King to James Burton to Clapton Beano to Judas Priest to Rage Against the Machine, and everything in between. But really and most importantly, you can sound like you. The clean channel is beautiful and any of my overdrive (OD) pedals sound great through it. I have been using a Boss Waza Craft Super OD a lot recently, which for me is my go-to early Santana, Allman Brothers tone. I have each EQ knob and the reverb set at 'noon' and haven't really had reason to change. I tend to prefer the clean, voice 1 channel. Voice 2 is great, just a little bright for my taste. As for the OD channel...honestly, I wish I had bought this amp before any pedal purchase. The OD channel has essentially rendered my OD pedals useless and I would have saved a ton of money and useless experimentation. Though a good fuzz pedal is still nice to have (I like the JHS Bender). Again, I tend to prefer voice 1. It sings, crunches and sustains like a lovely beast. I can't say that this amp sounds like any artist in particular. It might, and probably sounds just like Jared James Nichols, but ironically I don't know his music outside of him playing covers on his YouTube channel. I wanted something that sounds awesome, is versatile and unique. This amp ticks every box for me. Also, I love racing green, so the tolex looks f-ing awesome! It's also portable, at least the head is. This is great for me due to back problems. All of the line out options seem excellent; I mostly use the XLR DI. Lastly, the headphones and MP3/line in make for awesome late-night and silent jamming (the 4x12 emulated cab sounds glorious). This was my first ever review so I hope it made sense. Cheers!
Amazing compact Beast!
The blues power channel definitely sets this tube amp apart from many other tube amps. The clean channel shines and you can easily rock the metal as well. Even though it's 20 watts it is very loud. Love the choice of switching between 20 or 2 watts as to avoid disturbing the neighbors. By far the best tube amp I have ever owned! I highly recommend the JJN 20 combo! Try one out.… read more You will not be disappointed!
