Don’t hesitate
If you're looking at reviews because you need a loud clean amp, the JC120 is second to none. Worth every penny! Mine is currently being used in my studio but I can't wait to play a gig with it. Best combo out there!
Long haul is right!
I've been using a JC120 for 40 years. Never had a repair! Same today as day one. Played a thousand one nighters with this amp. I play either my original 59 ES 335 or my Guild x175 through it. I wouldn't want another amp
JC-120: the real deal
Everything you say is true and leaves little to add. Even bands as exacting as King Crimson have toured with as many as three JC-120's on stage at a time. I'm sure there are other transistor guitar amps that are excellent, but only the JC-120 is recognized as a classic. However I'd take just a small exception to the phrase "Unchanged from its original specification." In fact… read more the JC-120's gone through possibly seven revisions, with variations in the preamp circuit, chorus circuit, used three or four different speakers, perhaps four back panel designs and at least two front-panel designs. Interestingly, though, there's little talk to be found of people liking one generation but not liking another. Quality hasn't changed either. So they're not better or worse, and they're not even that different.
A must have if you are into tone seeking
I had this amp before and I had to sold it and now I have it again. This is the best clean tone ever and if you have Fender Stratocasters they are a match made in heaven.
Believe the hype
This really is the best sounding clean... I have never really heard anything like it. You have heard this amp on so many famous songs... buy this.
