This EMG Het Set Is amazing !!!!!
Just as described . Very satisfied.
EMG Het Set Active Pickups
My first active pickup set. I have played on passives for 30+ years. I do very thorough research before I buy a piece of equipment. I saw nothing but positive reviews for EMG's Het Set and decided to give them a try. The reviews are correct! The installation could not be more user friendly. No soldering required. No ground wire required. They are dead quiet. Articulation, sensitivity,… read more tone and output are outstanding. Far better than any passive pickup I've tried (and I've tried many). They can play crystal clear clean, but these are designed to be overdriven. The harder you push them, the better they sound. Just a little gain and they are right at home. Awesome chug and crunch. Piercing, articulate solos. You can even run them on 18 volts for more fun! A+ for these across the board.
EMG JH
I've never been a fan of EMG's but these will do the trick. The best of both active and passive without oversaturation on high gain channels. Good buy.
The best set EMG makes.
Metallica released a new song today. Might as well do a review of the EMG James Hetfield Set I have had. I'm done with the honeymoon phase, so here goes... -Best EMG pickups for me. -Even better than the 57/66 set since this has that Ceramic crunchy punch. Although the 57/66 would appeal more to players who play across genres. -Took all what's wrong with the 81 and changed… read more it for the better. The 81 was thin and compressed. This JH bridge is open with more mids and lows like a cleaner 85. Still has that 81 presence that cuts through the mix and brings out your picking definition. -Neck is very nice with clean tones. Mellower and rounder than a 60. -Hype is real. It really does sound like a passive-active hybrid. -Black chrome finish shows all your fingerprints and sweat smudges -If you are skeptical with actives, try this one and/or the 57/66 for size. TL:DR Sounds open and balls to the wall huge; yet gives you all the positive attributes of an active. Would like to thank my salesguy, Evan, for the awesome customer service. I think I might be buying more of these to change all the pickups in my guitars. A bit pricey for a set, but worth it.
Best of both worlds
Never been an EMG fan but these beat my previous expectations. Somewhat pricey compared to the blackouts but in the end a good buy.
