Fantastic Chorus for Guitar and Hammered Dulcimer
This is a fantastic chorus pedal for the price! The retro look is an added bonus as it stands out on your pedalboard. I use it for acoustic and electric guitar, as well as hammered dulcimer. It's built solid, and I've had no issues with it since purchasing. As a pedal junkie, I find myself buying pedals with lots of knobs to continually turn, but usually end up leaving it at… read more one favorite setting. TC Electronic took care of this by taking all the guesswork out of it and giving you three options that are all very good. I find myself using setting I primarily (especially strumming), with setting II every so often (single notes sound great with this). I don't usually turn both I and II on at the same time as it's usually too much for what I'm trying to do. I can attest that the stereo works well when you add a Y-cable, and the tonal difference is worth adding that on. The true bypass works as one would expect it to. When the chorus is on, it's not noisy. I highly recommend this pedal if you want a good first pedal, or just another one for your collection, and especially if you're trying to simplify your rig. You will not be disappointed.
Absolutely gorgeous sound!
Some gear just sounds great. This is one of those pieces. I am using this with mostly Verbos Electronics modular synth rig. It is hard to express just how beautiful this sounds but I kind of never want to stop using it. Also, it is a really beautiful object to look at and to hold. The buttons feel satisfying to press. But it's the sound that will keep this pedal in almost every… read more patch. I opened it up and switched the input to the keyboard setting which switches the input impedance from 500 ohms to 12k and seems to attenuate the signal about 20db. The pedal does require an amplifier to bring it back to line level. I'm using the amp stage of a Strymon AA.1, which boosts the signal 18db. If you get this, it is essential to get a 1/4" TRS to 2x 1/4" TS cable, like the Hosa STP-203 Insert Cable - 1/4 inch TRS Male to Dual 1/4 inch TS Male, as this pedal's output is a single TRS jack with a mono/stereo switch.
Classic Juno 60 Chorus
I use several of these on vintage synthesizers without onboard effects. The V2 model is a huge improvement over the original June 60. The stereo chorus adds much life and movement to a dry mono sound, I must have effect. I do have an original Roland Juno 60 to compare this too and the effect is very close. At $69.00 its a real value!
Excellent for line level use reamp during mixing
I never found a VST plugin that sounded like real analog chorus, such as the old roland/boss chorus to use during mix (I'm a full time mix engineer) and when the June-60 V2 came out with its 4 different settings, 2 of which really nailed the original speed/depth, and works at line level so no need for a reamp box for this one, I had to get it. Now its inserted in every mix I do,… read more on Bass, Keys... its just amazing to have the sound finally in my mixes again.
Great Chorus for that 80s Sound!
So I've had this for about 2 weeks now. On bass guitar going DI it's a treat. You get real 80s The Cure type vibes, and just sounds dark and atmospheric! Also I use this on my mono poly and it sounds very big! Playing it in Poly mode makes it more so lush. Guitar wise I find it ok, but mostly for single strings like playing a Joy Division Riff. This is all the the keyboard setting!… read more It works on Bass Guitar in this mode well, and single strings! On chords for guitar I would recommend the fast setting if playing at a normal or fast speed. Only gripes is the internal Keyboard Vs Guitar In line is a massive drop. So much so, I just left it on Guitar for everything in my chain. This way when hitting it off, you won't hear a too big a drop. There is a -2/-3db drop turning off. But if you are playing live and won't it to stay all same volume a compressor pedal will do the job. Overall for the price I'm very satisfied for keyboard, and bad guitar! Would recommend for the price!
