if you brought a blind person into a room to hear a uk bass ; that person would not even think of whether the bass was so small. I'm totally blown away .. the sound is perfect . I mean ; it's not a run around the stage like angus young situation; but with a strap , very comfy . the built in tuner is very handy and accurate . Okay, so I'm a novice bassist, at best. But this little guy is so much fun, I can't put it down. It is cute. Yes, I said cute. And because it is cute, it is *grossly* underestimated by any unfamiliar musician that crosses its path. My boyfriend is a well-seasoned, guitar player and he was thoroughly convinced his Fishman 30w could handle this "tiny Tim bass"... nope! He was so impressed,… read more he couldn't put it down! He said it was so loud, he was in absolute shock & disbelief. He didn't care for the Thunder Black strings bec they are "too roll-y" but it's not his bass, it's mine and I love them! This is a LOT of bang for your buck. If you're on the fence, hop on over, it's super fun and no regrets!
