I own two!
I love this mini-Amp. The sales rep "Clay" suggested it and it's fantastic. The delay makes it sound like I'm in a Concert Hall. It only has one input, so you would need a 2nd one if you want to mic up for singing along. I would recommend. ...great Amp. Happy customer.
You will be pleased
I picked this up because I sold my house and was doing a 6 week stay at a hotel til my new house was finished. Couldn't exactly set up my Mesa Fillmore head and cab and wasn't gonna go 6 weeks unplugged or worse yet not playing at all. Looked at a few different headphone amps and then saw a few demos of this Katana Mini. Figured it would give me the headphone option and could still… read more do some quiet practice w/o the headphones. I'll just say wow. The size of this thing made me expect a very thin and bland lil amp and I was wrong. It has 3 channels and digital delay that if you turn the time to 0 and level all the way up works as a reverb(see pic). The cleans are great and the overdrive was actually a real surprise(reminds me of SD1). Then the Brown channel kicked in and I was blown away. At 7 watts it can get pretty loud and the tone is really great..... I am not saying it is a tone machine but for the size and features it really rocks. Costs about the same as a headphone jack amp and is way more bang for ur buck. Take it anywhere runs off batteries or 9v power supply. I am now looking at the Katana 50 watt combo for practice w my band and as a backup. Boss has great pedals so why wouldn't they have great amps.
GREAT LITTLE PRACTICE AMP
The Boss Katana Mini is a great little mini battery-powered amp. First off, this thing just sounds amazing, all the three channels are useable, and many, many great tones are on tap with a few twists of the controls. I really dig all the features that are standard, but I like the headphone and aux outs and also, all the different delay settings I can get with a small adjustment.… read more The amp is well constructed, small, and very portable (>3 lbs). It's even wife-approved, as she thinks it's very cute and awesome. The only negative is having to buy a separate plug-in power supply. Pic of my bari-leles and BKM.
First Guitar Amp
Yes Sir!!!!! This is my first official guitar amp. Previously I was using the vox bass headphone amp because I used to play bass but switched to electric guitar and I never had a chance to get a proper amp. Can't wait to try this out when I get home from work. I'm sure it's going to sound amazing Motivation reestablished!!!!
Big tone s.all box!
After having this little amp for a few weeks, I've finally really warmed up to it. I've found the sweet spots tone wise that suit my guitars (Fender,Ibanez guitars), and really have "learned" to play on this little amp. The Cleans are your basic clean, pure and simple. The Crunch channel offers some grit, and my favorite channel, the Brown setting is where my love comes in for… read more this amp. It's quite a big sound with enough gain without a pedal. The analog circuitry offers great reliable tone, and the Delay offers some variety. Though I wish there were a Reverb instead, I found via YouTube that if you use Time at 0, Level at Max, you get a Reverb like effect which is where I leave the setting at. I love this amp, and thank Sweetwater for making it easy to have acquired it for 3 easy payments! It's convenient for playing anywhere, and allows for great practice anytime.
