I bought a cheap guitar in hopes to customize it a little and make it my own. I put these pickups in and the pick ups alone took this guitar from a $200 guitar to a $800 in sound. They sound so full and pack a punch. Clean tones sounds very great as well. If heavier In all aspects is what your after these are the pickups to get.

Very aggressive sound and crunchy punch for the bridge pickup under mid and heavy distortion , warm and fat tones from the neck pickup, on clean channel very crisp and clear tones! Not limited to Metallica style of music , can be use on any kind of rock or any kind of application

...I buy the majority of my gear from Sweetwater so I wanted to let other Sweetwater fans know my experience with this set. I bought these to replace the original 60/81 set in my LTD EC-1000 silver burst. (All of the other electronics were starting to get noisy) All I can say is that I am blown away by power and tone I get from this set. I also really love the completely solderless wiring system which makes it easy to switch out or replace parts in a flash.

Outstanding tone and clarity! Really does nail Kirk's tone! Was easy for me to install due to having EMG 81s in my LTD which these replaced so was basically plug ang play. Huge difference, like playing an entirely different guitar!!! Dont sell yourself short, these pick ups DO NOT disappoint, neither does Sweetwater!
