Beware of Quality Issues
I bought one of these and loved the look, feel and tone of it, but there was a problem with the volume of the 'D' string. It was about 75% of the others, no matter how I had the pups, pan control or volume set. Turns out that it is a known issue with the way Lakland manufactures their pups, and cannot be fixed. Not sure why they don't correct it. It more typically affects the… read more volume of the 'A' string, based on the forums that I read. Also, a couple of the tuning posts were not lined up straight, so that the tuning keys bumped into each other. I've seen this mentioned in other reviews. Although a minor problem, I think it speaks to the lack of overall quality control at Lakland.

I purchased a cherry sunburst maple 44-02 and James Shilliday was the sales rep I had worked with. James made everything a breeze from start to finish! Great tone variety, easy to play, and the beauty of the finish and color was far better in person, rather than viewing an online picture.
