Nice Bass that Needed Tweaking
Overall I'm pleased with this Lakland Hollowbody. Short scale is very comfortable to play. Light weight makes gigs that much easier. I don't think you sacrifice anything with the 30" scale. Mine did need some tweaking upon arrival. The pickups both had too much clearance in their bezel and vibrated while playing. Sometimes that vibration sounded all right but overall… read more I want to control that. So I placed foam beneath each pickup in order to reduce the play. Even then it was annoying at times so I wedged a thin piece of plastic between the pickup and the bezel to eliminate the play. That solved the problem. My blues band mates really like the sound of this bass.
