Another great pickup from DiMarzio
I use this in at the neck position in combination with the Crunch Lab at the bridge. I can see why John Petrucci used this combination on his guitars. I use both the 6 and 7 string version of this combo. The 6 string versions on my USA Jackson Randy Rhodes and Soloist, and the 7 string on a Schecter CD-7 Deluxe an exceptional pair of pickups, can't recommend them enough, all the… read more clarity of a SD JB, but can blow it out like a demon when cranked through a high gain amp. Really brought that Schecter to life, I play everything from Sade and Keiko Matsui, BB King and Muddy waters to A7X, ATR, BFMV, 5FDP etc. To keep my setups simple I like to bring just one axe to my gigs, I'm using the Schecter C7 now in drop/A drop/D tuning for everything and this set of pickups takes care of it. I was never a big one-size-fits-all guy but as I've gotten older, I have simplified my setups drastically these pickups really go a long way towards that end.
Awesome
Truly a very musical pick up that is entirely accurate in its description. This PU woke my old Ibanez, I cant put it down. Should have installed it sooner.
Great Pickup!
It's me again. I use these paired with Crunch lap in a Schecter Guitar. These things are amazing. My musician friends still can't believe that these passive pickups sound better than their active EMG's. The way I would describe the tone on a scale of 1-10 Bass= 9 mids=7 Highs=8 They scoop slighty in the mid range. But that fact that they are more Prominent in the bass and… read more high frequencies don't take away from the fast attack on these things (much like the crunch lab). On the clean channel this pickup will blow you away... even with some slight distortion. I wouldn't use them for Heavy metal Rhythms but using these for metal solos on the higher scale will make you "DOT YO PANTS!" (You'll like it a lot) The solos sound so beautiful when using these pickups. If you have a 3 way selector switch then using these in pair with the Crunch lab would be pretty cool as well but I recommend soloing with these alone, you will love it. Go buy now! lol Rock out homies!
