Unreal!
I tried to put these in myself thinking my 30 years as an automotive tech would give me an edge but I ended up taking my strat in to have it done professionally. I added two push/push pots to split the coils (one for the neck and the other for bridge and middle pups and I'm incredibly impressed by the tone and versatility I get out of it now. I set my boosts/overdrives at top… read more volume and dial it back for a cleaner sound - With one guitar I'm getting a fair Derringer tone off the bridge pup - dial back the vol and switch to the middle pup, add a little reverb and I get Garcia. Or, stay with the bridge pup and give it some compression and play slightly dirty country licks. The neck pup gives Clapton licks a welcome dirty edge and all without the frustration of a complicated pedal dance. I'd call that a pretty good day and I highly recommend these pups to anyone trying to get all this out of one guitar and four pedals.
