Prince's Guitar Strings Of Choice
I bought these strings because I read they were Prince's electric string of choice. I put them on my Strat, after being totally unsatisfied with the feel of Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, which were way too loose for my taste. After even an hour with these Hi Beams, I can understand why Prince preferred them. The feel is firm yet comfortable, the bendability is easy while retaining… read more a crisp snap, and overall they have a very bright tone that cuts through the sound with a full band. I would highly recommend these strings for those who play R&B, Neo Soul, and Funk. Next to D'Addarios, these are the best string I have found, and will continue to keep them stocked for my electric guitars. The other guy who reviewed these strings must have gotten a bad or defective pack, because my experience was the total opposite.
Hi Beam Strings? Should be called Fog Lite strings
These are terrible. I purchased two packs to try them out and compared to my regular go-to strings, Ernie Ball Titaniums or NYXL's these are dull and have no tone at all. Will not use them again. I should stick to what I know works best!
