Great overall
great sound, great build quality, great customer service
Great sounding little guitar
My package came very saf and secure and perfect the way it was supose to i recommend using sweetwater for all musical needs and i will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future.
Great to keep handy for intimate practice and song writing. Surprisingly playable for such an inexpensive guitar.
I have owned this guitar for about 3 years now. My perspective is therefore from and informed point of view. This is a nice little guitar when viewed from the angle of what it is. If you're looking for traditional Martin tone, look elsewhere. This is a very different animal from a full sized Martin that costs many times more. I'm still perplexed when someone equates the name on… read more this little travel guitar with the same expectations they'd have for a traditional full sized model. This guitar is not about equipping you to play at the next Bluegrass festival. It is excellent however for preparing your chops to play at that same festival. Travel sized guitars virtually all have inherent issues with intonation and other quirks. You make some compromises with all of them to gain the advantage of sheer convenience. You take on things like laminate components to gain practical advantages for travel, inclement weather, etc. I especially like this guitar because I don't have to worry about it. I can also sit on a couch with 4 other people and still have room to play it! My wife gave me mine as a gift. I had no idea that I would play it 10 times more often than my full sized guitar. I play it more often because I can! Many times when my full sized guitar would be too cumbersome, this one fits the bill. I don't personally consider the preamp nearly as much for performance, as I do for practice with a band, previewing effects for a song, etc. My only "gripe" is that the built in tuner has a lot of latency. It therefore requires patience. It's not intended however to replace a dedicated tuner. Now, can you use if for performance? Certainly you can. There are any number of more informal situations when it could be appropriate. Someone else might even find it appropriate for more formal things. This is a great little guitar for what it is. My general practice time has gone up exponentially since I got mine. This is a fun guitar that you'll play and practice with a lot. You'll take it places where you wouldn't take a full sized guitar, and you'll worry about it a lot less. Keep it in perspective and view it for what it's intended to be, and you'll likely enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed mine. I highly recommend it.
Better then expected
Sounds ok not plugged in, louder then expected. Plugged in, it sounds really good, better bass then i would have thought. The short scale makes it hard to do bends. The sustain is ok, i guess that could be volume related or setting my amp up to get more sustain. Very happy with it. Made my own pickguard for it. You can adjust the truss rod, you need a 5mm very long hex wrench. I… read more just happen to have one. So far the adjustment is ok. The string height a lil higher then i like, but i can live with it. So far happy with the purchase. Better then i thought, way more sound then expected blows me away.
Very small with amazing tone and projection
This little Martin is meant for shredding (accoutically speaking). Full dreadnought sound eminates from the Little Martin. It's a great guitar to just try and kill and just acts like Martin--you lose. No dice, living forever. Great portable size. I'm 6' tall with large hands and this guitar is comfortable for me. Thanks for your help Sam!
