Really fun pedal.
I don't have a stereo guitar amp. You can run your guitar through this into 2 inputs of a DAW. Then reamp each channel separately through a mono amp. It's really clean too. I sing vocals through it. I bought a stereo pair of ribbon mic overheads, but have been meaning to try a mono overhead through this. MXR should change it's name to MSG, cuz this stuff is addicting!
Delicious
Just all-around great sound. Warm, not too overwhelming that your sound is drowning in it. Does just enough, and really fills individual notes and chords.
M134
A wide palette of warm tones easily found with 5 knobs. No brittle digital ice here. No endless hours tweaking in an attempt to break through to a sound that is not heinous. Dive in and swim the depths. You are there.
The Chorus
Great effect, MXR never disappoints!
That chorus that just works
I have purchased or owned more chorus pedals over the last 40 years than any other pedal but OD's. Ive always been looking for a chorus that works well with overdrive and distortion. In the 80's the rackmount stuff suit my needs. The 90' was the Boss chorus... Fulltone after that. I've finally landed on this recently. I don't do the deep warbly chorus... at least not enough to… read more keep it on my board. This pedal is clear wihout killing your tone. It's very adjustable and perfect for a cover band. It adds depth without taking over and sparkle on clean sounds nicely. I was never a huge fan of MXR... it seemed like their time had come and gone... but this pedal suits my needs very well. For me... it's a keeper.
