Great Pedal
Geez this thing is a tank. Good weight, compact size. Doesn't affect my tone like my old NS-2, and has more options than the ISP Decimator series. Comparing it with the Decimator G-String, the Smart Gate closes faster when riffing but doesn't ruin my sustain when holding a note. Guess that's why it is "smart" lol. I highly recommend it.
The most boring and amazing pedal
This has to be the most boring guitar pedal in the world but is beyond worth it. I have a couple different distortion pedals that generate unwanted noise. Once the pedal is setup, it just need to be turned onto work. Once the pedal is on, it can just be ignored until it needs to be turned off. Clean, chorus, and reverb signals do not need to be altered and the Smartgate should be… read more turned off because it will reduce the volume of the signal which is already softer in comparison with distorted signals. This pedal is very easy to use and dramatically reduces noise in the signal without compromising wanted distortion.
Great Utility Pedal
MXR made a good one and it helped quiet down my high gain amp without sucking tone. Connor Smith made it happen and as always, he makes the purchasing process so much easier at Sweetwater.
Gets it done
Eliminates noise immediately with no loss of volume or tone. Adjustable cutoff works well.
MXR 135 noise gate
After spending some time figuring where to put this device in my pedal board, I discovered it works well right before the "front" of the amp and it gives me just the control I need to keep my effects quiet and manageable! It works really great and has so many adjustments on it that it should take care of any possible noises no matter what I plug into it! Really cool!
