Best strings for Martin Guitars
I have been using these strings for over 5 years on my Martin JCPA4 Jumbo Performance Artist custom guitar. They have an incredible sound and feel! Bright and lively, but can be very warm-sounding as well. I love the extra yarn at the ball-end of the string to protect my guitar, too. Highly recommend using these!
Good sound and feel
On acoustic guitar, I really prefer the sound of 80/20 bronze strings for their smooth-without-harshness sound. but these strings work well and sound good on my Epiphone dreadnought and give me a little different sound from my other acoustic 6-string--a little more midrange attack. Variety is a good thing, right?
Disappointed
After decades of playing guitar and trying different strings I have been able to find near perfect matches in martin strings for the guitars that I own. These are now different they are more like eric clapton strings which work great for one guitar and scrape on the other which had the marquis on it. The old marquis were the best guitar string combination I have ever encountered.… read more The new ones are more rounded off with a higher predominate frequency and are less effected by the effect processor that I use to get different guitar sounds. I guess I can say that they are smooth but other than that a big disappointment. I dug the old marquis out of the trash and put them back on. Now I'm seeing the remainder older model on the internet at significantly higher prices.
