Poor sound, lousy quality

I've been a Martin fan for a long time and own a vintage D-18. The sound of these strings has been a real disappointment. These strings have a shallow thin sound, especially on the high end, with little sustain. I replaced a 2 week old set of these Martin SPs, with a very similar set of coated PB light gauge from a major string manufacturer. Huge improvement!
