Mesa Boogie MarkV 90-watt 1x12 Combo Amp
This amp plays as good as it looks. Don't be fooled just because it's a 1x12, this baby is LOUD!!! It's taken a little bit to dial it in but once you do it's heaven. There are many tutorials on You Tube to help with the dial in or you can just go for broke. Overall I am completely satisfied with the amp and all the help from the good people at Sweetwater!!
Excellent All Around Amp
I must say this is the best AMP I have had the opportunity to own and I have had quite a few. I was going to replace pickups in my Strat and after playing on the Mark V I can't believe how much better it sounds and I will not be changing the pickups. Compared to the Marshall, first the Clean Channel is definitely better, and even an improvement over my Fender Deluxe Reverb ReIssue.… read more Channel 2 and Channel 3 are offer so many ways to tune you can easily find the tones your looking for. The Learning curve is not bad given the tremendous flexibility this amp offers. On the 10 watt setting I found it more than enough for home or studio use. The pedal board allows switch between channels, muting your external pedals, muting the amp and more. Unlike the Marshall, you can adjust the output/volume level for your pedals which for me was a huge win. This amp is rock solid and comes with quality caster wheels and much much more. I am keeping this one and if I could only own one amp, this is it.
Best amp ever
I read all the blogs I could find about this because I couldn't find one to try out anywhere. 90% positive blog posts. I wanted an amp for church that was versatile. I was a little frustrated with stomp box gain. I wanted to try some quality tube amp gain. This one seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, and they'er Made in the USA(about 100 miles from my front door). The price… read more of this amp made me a little nervous, but when I spent about a week dialing in tones and figuring it out, I was hooked. If I didn't own this bad boy it would be at the very top of my "wish list". Its very complicated but extremely versatile. The absolute best amp I've played. If you want simple, it may not be for you, but I'm a picky tone junky and this does exactly what I was looking for. Quality "fenderish" cleans. Great crunch, and very impressive high gain. Those demos on youtube don't do this amp justice at all. I listened to a ton of them too, but I dialed in way better sounds than anything I heard online. Thank you guys at sweetwater. Very good buying experience. God bless and I hope this review helps.
