What a cool little guitar!

I have been playing and teaching guitar for over 50 years. Now two of my grandkids are beginning to learn... I decided to give them Martin 000Jr-10's, based on the shorter/smaller scale, the solid woods, and Martin's rep for great guitars. At this price point, this guitar is awesome in every way. Feels good, and sounds unbelievable for its size. My advise - Get one...! You will read more love it.

Fun, fun, fun Martin 000 Junior 10

I have been playing the 000 jr the last couple of weeks for 2-3 hours each day. I am usually a die hard Taylor fan but have owned a few Martins over the years as well. I have also owned 2 GS minis (spruce and Mahogany tops) but quickly tired of the tight feeling finger board and the lack of bass tones. I have also owned 2 Larrivee Parlor (P-V09 and PV-05). The Larrivees played read more great but we're a bit too boxy sounding to me. This Martin neck is comparable to the $2K Larrivee but with a more balanced tone. I love this small Martin after a slight shave of the saddle and half a turn to tighten the truss rod which, together, brought the action down to where it is easy to play and has no string buzz. The strings are a bit noisy and a touch dead sounding but that is an easy fix.The guitar is very well balance and really comfy. My arthritic hands really appreciate the playability which I never achieved on the GS mini. I also installed a K&K mini pickup (my personal favorite) which sounds stellar and really reveals just how balanced the tone is. To sum it up- great sweetwater service, best smaller guitar I have played to date! Thank you Kevin at Sweetwater

GREAT LITTLE GUITAR! SHOULD OPEN UP NICELY ONE DAY.

I was torn between the D Jr and 000Jr. Since I own a 2002 HD-28 figured I would go with the other body style in the Jr series. Also checked out the Taylor GS mini very nice also the finish is better but the all solid wood Martin makes more sense in the long run. The guitar will age better and open up. Just need to get the guitar properly set -up the action is fine at the cowboy read more chord area but lower down the neck is high action. Other than that great sounding loud little guitar. Easy to play on the couch or on an arm chair the arms do not get in the way.Make sure you keep it humidified being solid wood and all.

How sweet and lovable this 000Jr is!!!

I wanted a smaller inexpensive guitar to travel with during weekend hotel getaways with my wonderful wife. Little did I know what an injustice it would be to reserve this little Martin just for weekend trips, its just delightful to play. I wasn't sure I'd like the retro strings, but they suit the 000Jr to a tee! The short scale length makes for easy bends while playing blues, and read more the wonderful tones from such a small bodied guitar are impressive. The retro strings no doubt tone down the high end treble often associated with small bodied guitars and the 000JR sings with a distinctive voice all of its own emphasized by its shorter scale length. For me, its a perfect finger picking guitar. The 1.75" nut width wont suit all, but over the years I've gravitated from 1 11/16 because it suits me so much better. Fret work is good for a guitar in this price range, with no sharp ends for me to clean up. All I needed to do was give them a good polish for smoother, slicker bends. Adjusting the truss rod isn't easy, a long wrench is needed because the adjusting nut is very recessed and mine was delivered with a little too much relief. No tinkering of the action needed otherwise though, it left Martin's plant well set. After correcting the excessive forward bow over a few days the action at the 12th fret is 6/64 on the 6th string and 4/64 on the first string - just the way I like it for an acoustic! The workmanship and materials used are great for a guitar in this humble price range and the result is one awesome little guitar with a fabulous voice! You don't just hear this gem you feel it too! The luthiers hit all the sweet spots because this guitar resonates with life. I'm sure it will simply get even better as the years go by too. I'm blessed to own and play some beautiful acoustic guitars, but this little Martin has won me over hook line and sinker so will rarely be neglected sitting in a corner. I'd pick this guitar over a Taylor mini every time! Martin knocked it out of the park with this one and I hope it receives the recognition it so well deserves!
