I took my Tenor IZ to a Uke jam session in my town. The comment... "Man that Uke is loud! Yes it is! I love this little instrument. The woods are beautiful and the tone is excellent. A little expensive, but definately worth every penny. First class.

I own Kamakas, KoAlohas and this Martin model ... it is definitely amoung the best of the best ukulele's available under $2k. The Kamaka and KoAloha might have a little bit more sparkle due to being all koa and gloss finished. but the construction quality, warmer tone and playability of this Martin IZ uke is superior, in my opinion, in every way. The tuners are very smooth, not… read more like friction pegs at all. They're high end violin tuners that are top of the line. Super uke, great deal from Mike Soper who is a super Sweetwater rep. Very pleased!

Martin arrived in a very safe way. I was impressed with how protected Martin was packaged. and have to tell you Martin was in my Sweetwater cart for a year before I ordered it, I waited to long. Online you cannot see the quality Mahogany Top, back and sides satin finish that presents itself in an outstanding way. The Rosewood Fingerboard brings the tone of excellence to this instrument.… read more Last night I walked into the Mission Valley Monday night jamming session and it was like carrying in a new baby. They had to examine Martin from fret to fret, Some held out their arms in great desire to hold and play Martin. It was a good feeling being the owner of Martin 1T IZ Tenor Uke. Someday I will be the player I desire to be because of Martin and Isreal Kamakawiwo"ole. Don't hesitate to order this baby.

Ordered this without ever seeing or playing it. I was totally blown away when I opened it up, then I strummed the first chords on it, WOW what a beautiful sound that came from this little instrument. The quilted mahogany is absolutely gorgeous! Quite a tribute to "IZ" , I now understand why the tenor ukulele was his favorite instrument. I only hope I can play as beautiful music… read more as he did! Great job Martin! The case is also top notch. I would also like to say thank you to Sweetwater for such wonderful service and a speedy delivery!
