Absolutely incredible

I'm a gigging full time musician and play on average 3-4 shows a week. I've been struggling to find a guitar that could beat my Yamaha LLX16 (also an incredible guitar for the money). My buddy has an HD28 and I played his and was smitten. I set out to save and buy one immediately. Years down the road here we are. This is one of the best (if not the best) guitar I've ever played. read more It's incredibly loud has that tight boomy low end and the shimmery highs. Super super rich on both ends of the spectrum. Very bluegrassy sounding guitar. I would expect no less from a guitar that Tony Rice helped make famous (his pre-war 1935 D28). The LR Baggs anthem also sounds suuuuper good. Never had a guitar that plugged in this well. No trouble with feedback either. I've only had it for a month and it has already opened up an insane amount. I've also been playing it ALOT. Already needs a fret crowning. Anyways, BUY IT. I got one of the last sunburst HD28Es I could find. Looks gorgeous, plays well. A friend for life. Never selling this guitar.

HD28E LR Baggs

Just received my HD28E and could not be happier with it. Has great bass and treble all across the board. I had a GPCRSGT now they call it GPC11E. I thought it sounded great until I received my HD28. No comparison. Great customer service. Nick Grawcock kept me informed because it was on back order. Just wished I'd bought this one first.

My dream guitar!

I just recently bought my Martin HD-28E from Sweetwater after scrimping, saving, and dreaming about it for years, and I couldn't be happier. Nothing prepared me for the awesome tone, playability and workmanship of this beautiful guitar. When I'm not playing it, I'm staring at it. (Even the smell of it is wonderful). When I can get back to doing live shows I will be plugging in read more the installed LR Baggs pickup. Until then you can find me writing and singing new songs on my shiny, new dream guitar with a big smile on my face I wanted to give a shout out and a huge Thank You to Forrest at Sweetwater for all the help in making this longtime dream a reality. You're the best! George

I was very skeptical about purchasing a HD28E guitar over the internet, as I'm one who likes to play and touch it before purchase. Norb Beringer stay with me the whole way email after email I thank him for that. It made the purchase easier. When it arrived I really wanted to open it, but I let it adjust to the climate for 24 hours. Once I did open the the box it was in another box read more and then the case (GREAT packaging!) He had the guitar set up the way I wanted and it plays wonderful and sounded awesome!!

Love this Guitar

The HD-28E is my first venture into the Martin world and I absolutely love this guitar. The sound is full and bright with the right amount of warmth. I really like the LR Baggs Anthem sound system. It is extremely adjustable and the Martin sound is pure and true. I am plugged into a Fender Vibrolux amp and I run a clean signal, but I can also dress up the sound anyway I want read more through the amp. Using the LR Baggs fingertip control, I am able to modify the sound and pickup mix to obtain different effects without adjusting the amp or using pedals; however, the adjustments on the amp and a few pedals can be mixed into the output to achieve any desired sound. Most of the time, I play without using an amplifier. It is a powerful guitar with beautiful um-amplified sound. The HD-28E is a fantastic acoustic, or acoustic-electric. In other words, one has the best of both worlds with this Guitar.
