DO NOT BUY THESE
First off I do not play a $5K guitar but my. Epiphone Hummingbird is a darn good guitar. I put these on last night, took it to church and played 3 songs. My guitar sounded awful!. There is no way Eric Clapton uses these. I will not play it again until I have quality strings. Disappointed.
They sound fine on my Guild acoustics
I actually like them better than the old Martin SP's on my D-40, and just as well anyway on my D-20. I have used many different kinds of PB strings over the years. I hate the sound of coated or "treated" strings. I like these uncoated Clapton's Choice strings as well as any.
Ruined the sound of my guitar
I have used various strings on my old Guild over the years and have generally been satisfied...until now. I had ordered another Martin string set (Tommy's Choice) that worked well on my guitar but the vendor was perpetually out of stock so I agreed to receive these Eric Clapton light gauge strings instead. What a mistake. These strings ruined the sound of the guitar. There is no… read more warmth to these strings on my guitar, only an over-the-top brightness. The strings are also noisy and unforgiving...even the slightest mis-fretting results in buzzing. These are absolutely the worst strings I have ever put on a guitar and they'll be coming off as soon as I receive my Tommy's Choice strings from Sweetwater. Until then, I am avoiding my go-to Guild guitar as there's no joy in playing it with these strings.
I like ‘em
Had these strings on my Ibanez for almost a year and they're still going. I play allot of metal and tend to get into it with chord progressions so these are good strangs man, trust me.
