Almost a year ago, the tube amp I was using started having power issues. While a realized this was a possibility with a tube amp, the issue started after only a year or two of light to moderate use (I purchased new). While I've always enjoyed the warmth of an all-tube amplifier reliability and maintenance issues had me looking for a solid-state alternative. After researching popular… read more solid-state amps, I thought I had identified the one. However, before purchasing, I reached out to my Sweetwater Sales Engineer, Tyler Moore, who suggested I take a look at Quilter instead. After some additional research on Quilter, I purchased the MicroPro Mach 2 12-inch, 200 watt combo amp and have never looked back. This is a fantastic amplifier! It sounds great loud as well as at bedroom volumes. By itself, the amp has a lot of tonal options (strongly suggest getting the optional foot pedal). It also has proven to be a terrific pedal platform using the amp's effects loop. And compared to a similar 12-inch tube amp, the Quilter is significantly lighter with a smaller footprint. After almost a year of use, I have not once regretted my decision to purchase and have not experienced any "tube-amplifier envy". I fully expect this will be my go-to amp for many years to come. This amp is exactly what I was looking for. It has all the features and then some. Love that you can play an acoustic guitar and a microphone if you like. The sound of it is amazing. The size and weight are unbelievably good too. After watching a few videos. And talking with Quilter a few times. By the way they were very helpful and extremely generous with their time. I was excited… read more to hear the amp in person. It came a few days ago. And I am beyond happy with my purchase. In fact I am definitely going to get the extension cabinet. I was able to take advantage of the free accessory rebate. I opted for the six position foot switch. And it just came today. Quilter does not mess around. Ted Hunter my guy at Sweetwater was also extremely helpful as always.
