BeatBuddy

If you have the Bb you need the Maestro! I have both with the 2 button Footswitch. I know some say the looper is too expensive but that is my next piece! Why buy something else and mess with getting it to sync when all of these were made for each other? Last but not least Sweetwater is the place to get them! Thanks Ashton!

I'm still working on getting my mind around all that this will do! I'm not the most technical savoy person so I need more practice. This is going to be a great addition to my nationally touring program.

4 Stars After recent Firmware Updates

Lots of problems with the unit initially (I purchased directly from SS, 1st batch production, SweetWater did not sell at the time). I had given up my RC-30 for this and was disappointed as I felt like I lost a functional looper in my setup. I kept the pedal and worked with the company and am pleased to say that this thing works great now, I gave it 4 of 5 stars due to the upfront read more issues, and the desire to have the MonrningStar MC-6 MKII instead. Pros 1. Works with all my midi pedals (except the Boss-EQ 200, which I cannot figure out the Midi controls for the life of me). 2. You build your Midi commands in a library, then set them to saved configurations. The software is easy to use and works well, once you figure it out. 3. Fairly extensive amount of commands, with 10 pages of 6 commands each, and each footswitch can be set to toggle commands (Preset 1 and 2 on 1 switch, page redirects, or Midi Expression sweeps like EXP 0 to 128) Footswitch option to switch between BB / Aeros / and Custom Modes (I wish BB and Aeros were on the same program though, since they both use default PC1 with CC messages that are aligned, or not doubled). 4. Customer Service is good, the staff is friendly and they stand behind their products. I had the option of returning the unit for a full refund for the entire year, until the company resolved programming issues) 5. Nice size and screen displays, good backlighting for visibility. Cons 1. Does not work with Windows. I even tried an Android emulator but had issues with bluetooth connectivity. 2. The number of total commands, or the limitation of 10 pages does restrict me from full Midi implementation of all my pedals. I instead use different programs to work with different pedals at the full midi implementation level. The problem is that the MM only holds one custom program mode at a time, meaning I have to connect via bluetooth and upload a new config file for a different custom set of commands. The command number may be enough for most, but not quite for me. 3. The Midi in / out ports are recessed slightly into the unit, causing minor interference between standard 5-pin midi connectors (like Hosa) and the housing of the MM, my Midi cables will slowly disconnect themselves. Overall the MM is a solid Midi controller. It is much friendlier and quicker to use than the Boss ES-8. The MM allows me to switch between individual unit effects and options, while the ES-8 sets up the chain and presets. I like the SS as a company and love their pedal ingenuity, and the MM works well on my board setup.

Great with Beatbuddy!

I have all three Singular Sound products: Beatbuddy, Midi Maestro, and Aeros Looper. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the capabilities are incredible! I have used and/or owned just about every drum machine and looper out there, and nothing I have used in the past even comes close to what I am using now. I am a full time/long time musician, and I am extremely picky about my read more gear, and so far I am beyond happy with not only the products, but also the support I have received from Singular Sound. I have had several questions about getting everything set up to work the way I want it too, and every time I have contacted customer support, I have received a very prompt response by email, or sometimes even a very pleasant phone call!

Great If You're Using it for the BeatBuddy

I got this as part of the first testing units, and the experience using it with the BeatBuddy has been plug and play! I was surprised to see an accent hit bank that let's me add a kick and snare in addition to the crash. really excited to work that into my performances. However, at this time the app's not out yet. Not a big deal if you're just using it for the BeatBuddy, but something read more to keep in mind if you're buying it to control your other gear! They say the app should be out in early February 2020. I'll update this review, if I remmember, to reflect it when the app is launched. Oh and I almost forgot the mention, it's a beautiful looking pedal, everyone I show it to says so.
