A must for proper set-Up.
After setting the neck relief and saddle height, you need these to get the strings set perfect at the Nut. You will be happy you did and your guitar will play easier and feel like a much more expensive guitar. These are the tools to do the job right! Just go slow, don't file too much. Watch a few videos or take a class.
Great value
I also bought the one smaller than the 0.013 to make a set of seven. They've worked well on electrics, and steel string, and nylon string acoustics. Just take your time. These are sharp and one too many passes can leave you too deep.
Worked really well!
I had a great sounding guitar, but the string height on the first few frets were unbearable. I would tune down and capo up to get some relief on a brand new instrument. So, I watched a video on these and decided to order some. Now, I can play my guitar in standard tuning without even thinking about fretting. WORD OF CAUTION: However, these are extremely great cutting tools. Be… read more patient. Loosen the string, move it out of the way, and file about 5 strokes. Then, tune back up and check height. I got carried away on another guitar, and I'm having to replace the nut, now. If you aren't patient, you will over do it and fret out a string easily. One string at a time, a few strokes, retune and check. Otherwise, these tools are pro quality and very valuable.
