Best strings ever
these are by far the best guitar strings I have ever used. I been using them since 2004. I will never use any other strings. they feel great and their tone last a very long time.
Give 'Em A Go
LONG STORY SHORT: I think I finally found the strings I'm going to stick with. These are awesome! Keep reading to know why. Been looking for a good set that can handle the heavy chugging, yet at the same time able to get a nice bright chime and twang for bluesier and proggy stuff. My main guitar is HSS and I want those single coils to really cut through. I've tried just about brand,… read more D'Addario, GHS, Ernie Ball, Dunlop, etc. I've tried DR a few times in the past too but not the Hi-Beams. Everything I've tried has been alright of course because..well, they're strings. Differences are subtle. But they always seemed to miss the mark for me some how whether it was feel, sound, stability or whatever. These however lock into tune right away, didn't even really have to stretch them, just played for a minute and retuned a couple strings maybe once and they were good. In addition, because of how these are wound and the fact that they're a hex core you can really dig into the string without holding back when you're playing heavy without worrying about fret buzz or any sort of floppiness whatsoever. Previously had Ernie Ball 10-46's on the same guitar and it's a night and day difference. While they're not terrible, with the EB's I felt like I had to hold back the whole time if I played anything heavy. With these strings, you can use a lighter gauge and still get the same sound you want even if you drop tune. They have much higher clarity, better pick attack, the wound strings are much more stable, yet the plain strings are still easily bendable and have a very nice, chimey edge to them. Last but not least, while they easily cut through, there's not such a huge mid spike that it sounds nasally. Pretty much every characteristic I look for in guitar strings, these have. The one and only problem I have with the Hi Beams is simply the fact that they really need to be made more readily available and in more gauges. The fact that you have to place a special order if you want 9-46 is ridiculous
Good Strings!
Very good strings. They stay very well in tune and don't need very much stretching i highly recommend these strings!
