Perfect Multi-Genre Platform Amp!

Fantastic sounding do it all amp, does everything from sparkling cleans to djent metal leads with a distortion pedal. Reverbs and delays shine beautifully, and overdrives push the amp and get a really warm thick sound. Crunchy sparkling vox tones to kick you in the chest midrange Plexi tones by adjusting the 3 band EQ. Sounds amazing even at very low volumes with the power scaling, read more dynamic changes based on your pick attack so it's great for fingerstyle picking. All of the characteristics of my different pedals and guitars come through clearly, this amp is the perfect platform to let the gear take the spotlight. Thank you Spencer Pyles for great customer support, Sweetwater is the best!

Something Special!

This amp produces tones I've been after for years at volumes for home and stage. It likes pedals too. Use a Catalinbread Topanga reverb in front and it sounds simply fabulous. How about drive pedals? OMG yes! Belle Epoch for delay and you are in tonal Heaven. Joe Morgan took a lot of grief getting established but now his manufacturing and distribution are second to none. I read more love my Morgan MVP23!

Unbelievable!

I have had this amp for a couple of months now, and I can't say enough about how blown away I am by the tones I'm getting. With or without pedals, this thing rocks. Easy to dial in a sound because every tone is awesome. Unless you've got it turned off, you're getting great tone. Amazing creamy cleans , but it can get pretty dirty in more ways than one. Add a few pedals and hear read more how good they can sound. I don't have anything to say negative, and the positives are sky high. The power scaling was a real selling point for me, and it works fantastic. Even turned all the way down I can jam with amazing overdriven sound! I love it. Aric Ficek worked with me for a while to figure out the perfect amp for me. As always, customer service is the best I have ever experienced at Sweetwater. Thanks Aric and Morgan Amps.

One of the most versatile amps around 20 watts

I bought this amp (MVP23) from SweetWater about 18 months ago or so and have been gigging with it ever since - I gig at local restaurants/bars/breweries 2-4 times a month with my band. It has a beautiful clean that is like mix between VOX and Marshall that sounds great both with Strat and Les Paul (those are my main guitars) but sounds great with semi-hollow guitar (ES-235), too read more (my 3rd guitar). With this amp, I can even use bridge pick-up on my Strat (Eric Johnson Strat) and it sounds nice and mellow even treble cranked all way up on MVP23. I mean you can definitely hear high frequencies but doesn pierce your ears and performing with my band (bassist and drummer) I need the high notes to ring. And it also has good tight bottom (and middle). This amp really sings when gain is cranked up. And as you know, you can get different overdrive sound mixing Gain and Volume. I believe this is demonstrated on SweetWater website video but you get more grittier overdrive by cranking Volume knob rather than Gain knob which pushes Power amp tubes rather than the front-end which gives you slightly different overdrive tone as I mentioned. I really enjoy this sound rather than just cranking up Gain knob. You can mix these two knobs (Gain and Volume) and come up with all sorts of different overdrive sounds. My best set up is Gain at about 9 o'clock and Volume at about 2 o'clock (we play Blues and Classic Rock) and you can add any overdrive pedals to boost your signal for solo or more gain. I do tell you that if you crank up Volume and Gain knobs too much (past 3 o'clock) it tends to saturate (compress) little too much and I don't like that. But for some people, who are into metal tone or hardcore, you might enjoy this. I have owned 65amps Ventura, Bogner New Yorker, Fender '59 Bassman LTD, Deluxe Reverb ('79), VOX AC15 (hand wired), Friedman Dirty Shirley, Supro Black Magick, etc., (all around 20 watts because I truly believe that 20 watt amp is more than you need to gig unless you are performing at arenas all the time) and so far, MVP23 is the best fitting amp for my taste. It truly is a very versatile amp if you like that British clean and overdrive tone.

Golden Tone!

This amp combines the best of old school Marshall tone with modern feel and precision. The highs are never shrill and the mids and lows are fat and smooth. A completely top notch and incredibly versatile amp useful in both studio and live situations. A must have!
