Perfect
This light weight thin capo allows more resonance in the guitar. For me, the best thing about it is that it is just a little longer than standard. A standard classical guitar capo is 2.25". This capo is 1/8th of an inch longer. This doesn't sound like much, and in most circumstances, it doesn't make any difference. But if you want to place the capo on the 8th or 9th fret, that extra… read more eighth of an inch makes a world of difference.
Awesome capo!
I recently received the G7th Newport Capo (Classical, Silver) and was very impressed! it's perfect for my classical guitar. There's no metal to wood contact, and it's easy to use. 5 stars! Scott
It's OK
Well, I have purchased quite a few CAPO's over the years. I have to say about 10 and when I saw the video on this capo. I thought I would give G7th another try. The last G7th I purchased was about three years ago, I used once and found it wasn't up to the SHUBB. I don't like putting down a manufacturer unless the really go out of their way to to unresponsive. I have several Martins… read more and one Taylor 414CE. Well, I am again disappointed. The quality of the product is flawless and the manufacturer really does a great job in the construction of the CAPO. However, I just can't get it to secure all the strings in such a manner that the strings don't buzz. I have tightened the screw and tight as I can without damaging the guitar and still no luck. I was so hopeful when I purchased this item, but I can only give it a 2 for performance and a 5 for the beauty and quality of the production. I tried it on several guitars with little or no success. Sorry.
Mars Finish and. poor design
Worst capo I've ever used. It has mared the finish on my headstock and the bottom tip has dug into the wood when clamped. I would not recommend this to anyone using a nice guitar. I wish G7 would pay the repair bill to restore the finish. I'm very disappointed and feel this Capo is a poor design and should be discontinued. I think I will stick with the DAddario NS Classical… read more capo that you can get for less hear at Sweetwater.
Brings out harmonic overtones of a clssical guitar
The low mass of this style capo permits the neck of the classical to vibrate much more freely than expected. The sound of notes is clear, musical and resonant, and an audible harmonic effect can be heard. The capo works very well in keeping the strings pressed to the fret without string buzz or rattle. The capo is also very easily adjusted as far as spring pressure. Couldn't ask… read more for more. A great product.
