I Love This Capo

I own several G7th capos but the Newport is my favorite. Although this is promoted by G7th as being for acoustic guitar, I find it works extremely well on electric guitars as well. The adjustable tension is what is appealing - I can set the tension prior to playing a song and when that song comes up it is quite the simple matter of simply re-clamping the capo in place and viola! read more I find the adjustable tension knob easier to use especially on my instruments that require light fretting pressure. My guitars on which I use this Newport capo include Gibsons (Les Pauls, CS-356, ES-335), Fenders (Telecasters, Stratocasters), an O-10 Lowden, a Gibson J-185 and Martin GPC-18e. All these platforms retain intonation quite readily without retuning through fifth position; and remain usable with only minor capo adjustment and/or string re-pitching through eighth position, the highest I've ever used any capo including the Newport. I purchased this to replace a Newport that was somehow lost. I actually own two Newport six-string capos and a Newport four-string partial capo. I recommend these to players I encounter. If you are sensitive to harmonic intonation, I believe these Newport capos are for you.

I wanted a capo that I could easily use one-handed, that was easy to work around and that took up minimal room in my case. This does all that. Totally worth the money,

Very good capo

though it may seem a little pricey, this thing works beautifully---easily adjusts for the right level of tension.

Works perfectly!

I had a capo for my electric guitar but then I got a small acoustic and it didn't fit. So a friend who teaches guitar recommended this G7 capo, and honestly I wish I had bought it earlier. It's smaller and more lightweight than my other capo, and it works on both my guitars, so it's the only one I really need. The tension is totally adjustable to a fine level. Since it's adjustable, read more it will fit a variety of guitar necks. Very easy to use.

Excellent capo

I've had a Newport G7 for at least a couple years now and decided to buy another for my second guitar. Sooo much better than any capo I've ever tried. Best feature: minimally obstructive. Also, it doesn't mess up the tuning so much.
