Whether your a beginner or a seasoned performer or even a studio musician, new strings sound better, crisper, and hold notes and tones longer. As for my own preference D'Addaro strings have been my choice for a very long time, over 50 years of playing. Suggestion, when changing to new strings, once you get them on grab each one and tug up on it, go ahead it won't break, then attach… read more a tuner and then when tuning go a little past the correct pitch, then tune back down to your desired pitch. Don't worry their new strings, they'll stretch. Once all six/twelve or four are tuned, play it a little then re-tune a couple of times and then you should be set. I have been jamming since the late 60,s. Tried many Guitars and string configurations. My ultimate guitar is a vintage 335 Gibson.I went from 11's to 10,s.
