Amazing!
These strings were great on my PRS 595 singlecut! It really brought it to life. Very good reponse!
Solid buy for a sweet feel.
I have to say, I have been doing the balanced tension thing the hard way for some years now. (Buying multiple singles) and it's quite a pain in the butt. But I have always loved D'Addario. I cant speak on longevity because I change my strings Weekly while touring. But the spank of these strings are good, the feel is rock solid and yet it retains an elasticity that meets in the middle… read more right on pitch when bending. I can "feel" where I'm at more with these. Without having to worry about having drastic hard spots and soft spots on the fret board. And of course now that all of my strings match my OCD feels better too.
I can review 5 out of 6 strings. There was a defect with the 4th or D string. The defect is probably a one-off. The D string winding was short, just made it the first fret. There was 16 inches of unwound sting.String Review:They seem like really good strings. Not sure they are worth twice the price.I was planning to experiment with the options in the .011 range, starting with the… read more Balanced Tension set.On my electrics, I have been using GHS Burnished Nickel Rockers in .011 on my Les Paul and the GHS Eric Johnson Nickel Rockers on my Strat. Both get 5 star ratings *****. My impression of the NYXLs is that the sound and play as good as the GHS strings. Longevity seems as good, may be better. Will try the replacement set and see. After reading the reviews and the PR for the NYXLs, I expected to be impressed and was willing to change to these for all of my electrics. Bright, clear, long-lived
My experience with these strings is just the opposite as the above reviewer. These strings have a strong midrange with a good bite to them. Depending on the guitar, that may or may not be right for you. The steel seems to be a higher carbon then regular xl's and they don't go mushy nearly as quickly. On the tele they let me back down the tone knob and still get a good attack. On… read more the Gretsch ProJet, they are perfect for those bell tones ringing and clanging multi-finger swipes. They bend nicely and hold pitch exceptionally well. I've lost track of how many months they've been on my guitars but I would say their lifespan is easily 3-4 times as long as regular balanced tension strings
Not sure about these
I payed extra for the NYXL because I love the coated acoustic strings from Daddario and on my acoustic that i play almost daily. They last longer, don't break (almost never) and don't rust on the acoustic. I figured this would be the case with these NYXL on electric.. Nope.. I usually change the cheaper Daddarios after about a month... 3 or 4 shows and a few practice sessions...… read more The NY XL were completely rusted and not playable after being played for ONLY one show.. and then sitting in the guitar case for a week and a half.. Im sure humidity and dirty sweaty hands had something to do with this... but I've never let the cheaper strings get that cruddy and rusty before changing them once every month... I did not expect it, had to change strings RIGHT before the gig last week in a hurry... Ill just stick to the regular medium jazz electric strings (EXL 115's) by same company.
