Optimized for C-Tuning? Please...
I got these strings because I play very low and I wanted something to fit the profile of my playstyle. These strings do just that and so much more. I can tune my guitar (25.5") down to G# tuning and still maintain good tension. I will say if you do plan to go that low make sure you have locking tuners because they will get a little knocked around as you play. They are extremely… read more tonally sound and I cannot recommend these strings enough.
Great strings for B standard!
Over the past year, I've been involved in a band that tunes down to B standard, so I needed to set up my 6-string with some heavier gauge strings. I tried a few other companies, but I love the NYXL strings. These strings last longer, sound great and have the best thickness to allow me to tune down. If you're going to tune lower, I'd recommend an even heavier string gauge, but… read more these do the job for me!
Only string I use
Love these strings. These are the only set I use on my baritone guitars. There's something tonally that I can't quite put my finger on that I really love about these. Have yet to break one. They last for a while I've noticed too. Very good tuning stability with very minimal stretching required. All in all, I don't think I will be using any other strings for a long time.
Tone Factories x 6
stepping in to give the NY's the star up they deserve. i remember reading the reviews on this particular set before going to the string tension calculator on D'Addario's site....i ended up needing to put together a custom gauge set from NY singles, ( 12-17-22p-33-47-65 ) for my baritone, to get the same progressive tension i used to run on my old Charvel.. anyway, this set is… read more most similar of the prepackaged offerings; and so now, after having gotten the strings, and having pulled my floater and truss rod into a state of tune with them, and pealing it up until i was gasping for air, i just had to set the record strait on these. the one guy probably didn't like the resultant playing tension on his axe, and took it out as a bash on the tone....so i am here to say the tone is broad and consistent, and they are very punchy strings and carry energy with good sustain... or if you don't like the "tone" of these strings, try flipping your pick-up selector or tweaking your amps EQ
D'Addario NYXL1260 x-hvy
I'm a big fan of D'Addario strings due to my varied instrument collection - they have something good for just about any guitar ; they stay in tune well, play nicely, sound good, and ... look nice.
