I love this amp. The cleans sound beautiful, making for a great pedal platform. Still, when gain is dimed it is all Marshall. The tilt function is kinda cool, more tonal options. The amp is very loud, and the speaker sounds great. T. Woods

If you've sat envious of the Mark II head sitting in that hole in the wall guitar store for 2000 dollars, If you sit back and try and think about how good clapton's, page's, jimi's, angus' amps all sounded, and what you might be able to do with that, Get off your Butt. You 100% probably don't need the 50C but 2.5x the headroom and bar destroying raw volume for ~150 bucks read more more is hard to turn down. If you somehow find yourself in a no kidding music hall, This will STILL get the job done. Anything north of 3-4 on 5W (low) and you'd better make sure it's the right time of day, your neighbors are cool, ect. The gain boost + setting to 11 sets you immediately into the AC/DC, Motorhead territory of just wide open angry amp and if you've never, I highly recommend it. It cleans up on your picking, let alone volume knob, so don't be scared of the gain knob. it also eats and utilizes pedals for breakfast. And as a righteous old marshall, you can get w/e you think with the right pedal. A metal zone into the FX loop? welcome to modern high gain devastation land. big tremelo and a booster pedal? it will wash your eyes out with angry tone. Bottom line: I actually doubt you will find more amp than this from orange, fender, or vox. Their mid-tier offerings I don't think really do justice to their golden age amps that they WANT you to think they're selling. For the longest time Marshall was kind of guilty of this as well. (I'm looking at YOU, fizzy weird old DSL40C)

Plexi Tone Nailed by Marshall on a budget

Forget any bad Youtube video or some review you may have read on any guitar snob forum bashing this amp in any way; this is 110% vintage Marshall Plexi tone! A word of caution, it is one of the loudest amps I've heard in a long time, even on the low-watt setting beyond two on the master. AND I MEAN LOUD, be careful, and respect your hearing with this monster. Conceivably the 20-watt read more model is enough for simply playing around the house. I purchased a Warehouse replacement speaker planning on swapping it for the onboard Celestion model I'd never heard of. Wrong, Marshall matched it correctly to this amps desired tone, and voicing. No desire to alter anything to this vintage masterpiece. I'd say the only money I'd invest in are some metal corner protectors or perhaps wheels for mobility, And some sufficient Hearing protection!!! I simply cannot stress how loud the Origin is, but again the better it sounds. It's A genuine Marshall. Thanks to my long time SW Advisor, Ian Angle, for continually recommending this amp to me and stressing how good it sounds versus other, largely more expensive combos I was contemplating. The "Tilt" knob is impressive, and all the other functions assist in dialing in that sweet vintage sound. I'll add some delay or reverb, And that's it. Bravo Marshall.

Wow.. just Wow.

First I'd like to start of by saying props to Dave Hoffman for helping me out with this.. he recommended this amp to me and I couldent be happier with it! It's got that amazing "plexi" like tone, A very punchy sounding amp, but it also has amazing clean tones.. it takes all of my pedals AMAZINGLY, and it's just a fantastic amp for my 80's hard rock and Metal tones.. And man is this read more thing loud!
