Fender Original '57-'62

Finally got around to installing these in an old strat that was lying around and lifeless. It was my first strat from 2005 or 2006. Completely stripped it down, refinished in nitro, frets needed some work, most hardware was fine but desperately needed new life in the electronics department. I already have CS '69s in one strat, PV '65s in another and thought I'd try these. Installation read more was quick and easy (just under 20mins including time for the iron to heat up), slapped on a fresh set of strings and good to go. Now my very first Fender Strat from high school is like a brand new guitar again after 16 years and man these '57-'62s sound nice to my ear. Now I have three perfect Stratocasters what more could I want? Oh yea a forth one that I ordered a month ago. Thinking some fat 60s will be nice in that one.

Super easy install and Classic Strat tone

I did my first guitar assembly using parts that I preferred in the past. I am not the best solderer so I ordered this Fender pre wired 57/62 pickup pickguard. Very reasonable price, fast shipping and probably the easiest thing that requires solder to install. Only 3 spots need soldering. Very simple. These 57/62 pickups are very articulate and have that classic Strat chime. It could read more get a little ice picky but if you back off the volume to about 7-8, the highs mellow out just a touch. I absolutely love these pickups. The lows and highs work well together. Nothing gets lost or overdone. The one negative I will say is that Fender makes 2 different sets of the 57/62 pickups. One set is the Original Fender 57/62 with NO hum canceling middle pickup amd the 2nd version of the 57/62 with the middle pickup reverse wound and him canceling. The pre wired pickguard only comes with the one set that DOES NOT HAVE REVERSED WOUND MIDDLE PICKUP for him canceling. I didn't realize that until after I hooked it up and thought I did something wrong. The hum is in no way terrible but it's there. This was my mistake. I never heard of a set of pickups having 2 different characteristics and having the same name. Anyway the pre wired Fender pickguard with the Original 57/62s was easy to install and sound fantastic. Highly recommend them. Just be aware that there are 2 versions of the same pickups.

Tones that are much more than I could have hoped for!

3 letters...OMG! After ordering a new strat player series guitar and returning it and then scoring an "almost new condition" american standard strat just to off that as well, I came across a 06' squire affinity strat who's slim C neck just felt right my hands. I know, I know that sounds pretty crazy. But fitting right and sounding right are different stories. Being a "cheapo model read more Fender" the little Squire needed a lot of help in the setup and sound guality departments. After installing this new factory reissue 57-62 loaded pick guard from Fender this little project of mine has found its own tone personality and in my humble opinion, flat out ROCKS! These electronics have the 60's "quack" in the highs and leads to the mellow lows of the great Ballard's of that era and beyond. Everyone's different and chasing different sounds using different rigs but if that old school rock and roll sound is something that gets you and others up and goin', these are the pups and pots to drop into one of your axes!

Easy installation. Lower output creates a beautiful glassy tone. Useful tones in all 5 positions. Lower output on MIM strat than than my American Performer. Love these for smooth articulate sound!
