I bought this a little over a month ago. It was set up perfectly right out of the box. Intonation etc, right on the money. It sounded great and had excellent action...THEN I plugged it in--AMAZING tone. My friend (who plays a Martin) was SO jealous and impressed. This thing sounds and plays as beautiful as it looks. No regrets on the purchase, OR by going with SWEETWATER!

I have always wanted one of these guitars just because of the sound holes and appearance. And this one is gorgeous. I am not a fan of D'Addario strings and especially the 80/20 ones. I changed then after tuning it and setting it up. The action at the 12th fret was about double of what I like. But a simple truss rod adjustment and changed the shim under the saddle which was… read more provided and that was all it needed. Then the Martin Authentic strings 12-54 really brought it around. It mellowed it out nicely. Which is my preference. It plays super easy and sounds great. What more could you ask? And it is gorgeous.
This guitar is a little bit past Wonerful!!

I have always loved Ovation; it has a unique sound all of it's own. No guitar can sound like an Ovation. When I first got the guitar I used a "Universal II Chromatic Tuner" to tune it since it came from Fort Wayne, Indiana and I'm much higher and in a much dryer climate here in Greeley, Colorado. The guitar out of the box sounded a bit tinny and I didn't think I was going to get… read more used to it nor did I think I should have to. But after tuning it up with the said tuner, the tinny sound from the guitar didn't go away. Then I tuned it with the on board Ovation tuner and the tinny sound was gone; imagine that!?!? This guitar is as smooth to play as it is smooth to look at. What a beauty indeed; I truly do love this guitar to be sure. Thank you Ovation and thank you Sweetwater.com.!!!!! :-)
