Never let's you down!
Like many of the other reviewers, this isn't my first guitar nor my first Ovation. One of the most underrated guitars of all time, the mid-bowl and deep-bowl variants sound great from day one and all throughout their lives. Honestly, I might have to tune it once a week if playing everyday, and even then, it's just barely a difference. This is in part because Ovation has always used… read more top-knock hardware, and mostly because they handle vibration extremely well -- kind of the whole point, right? The pick up is very sensitive and captures well. Voicing is consistent amped to un-amped. The beautiful quilting and the brown finish are just icing on the cake. Ovation Player Tip #1: GET SOME SHELF LINER (see picture below) The round back is the what makes this guitar sound great, and it is also one of the top complaints from new players. Get some spongy-net-like-shelf liner -- the spongy, grip-i-ness works perfectly (search Amazon - you'll find it fast). Just place a small amount on your thigh and your guitar will not move. Color match it to your guitar and you can't even see it when you're on staged. Best tip anyone ever gave me and one I use with other guitars as well.
Ovation Elite Plus , Tiger Eye
I'm a big applause fan who hasn't plugged in much. It sounds as great plugged in as it does unplugged!
One Problem
The only problem with this guitar I bought from Sweetwater is the abalone dots on the neck can hardly be seen. There is black lines in them and grey color. Only one marker is white and can be seen easily. Looks cheap almost like the dots fell off. Except for that it plays well for the money.
All you’ll ever need
Every ear is different. Mine has owned Epiphone, Fender. This Guitar is the one I earned. Some reviews on YouTube describe it as "not being loud enough acoustically " BS! It"s perfect! The craftsmanship doesn"t need a review. The sound is what your looking for. Search no further. I haven"t even plugged it in yet. I truly enjoy it unplugged because every other single cut away acoustically… read more to me sounds crappy. NOT THIS!!!!
Beautiful, just beautiful
Just received my ovation celebrity elite plus today, straight out of the box, played beautiful and it was in tune. This is my third ovation and all I can say is WOW, I love it.
