These are great pickups. Hands down. I have it in the neck of an old Ibanez AX7221. I prefer the old school late 90s Ibanez 7 strings that are still "Gibson scale". In that set up, this does the trick: low output so it doesn't pummel the amp so hard, though a great mid focused yet balanced sound that really is addicting to play. I also tune down to "drop A" ala George Van Eps… read more and the pickup stays together and doesn't sound muddy or sloppy. Its all there in all registers and I'll likely put them in future 7s. If you want the real deal that you can trust go with this pickup. I can't say enough great things about it.
