Really Opened Up My Guitar
Bought it as a pair (PAF36 for Bridge, PAF Master for Neck) for my PRS S2 S24. I had always struggled with that guitar sounding muddy. Build quality otherwise good on it. Once I swapped out the stock pickups for these DiMarzios, it opened right up and had all the top end that I wanted. Very happy with these.
Cooler than you would think.
This pick up is a wonderful paf that sings. Even tone , bold and present. The low end doesn't bottom out with is great if you like to improvise or play clean on the neck. But the coolest thing discovered over almost a year with it is there is a jekyll to its hide. I decided to turn the pickup around to see what the difference is. Some of dimarzio Pickups you can do this and get… read more different results. Wow! The best way to describe it in my mind is a controlled version of the evolution neck. It gains harmonics that really jump, and there's a strat like quality to it. You do give up a little bit of the bottom end but it's slight. It also becomes super dynamic. Slide into a note, hammer, pull off ect. Each will yield a different character to the note that is so cool. In addition to that it has (ahh) vowl sound that is so cool when they jump out. I matched with a Mo,Joe and its insane. If you get this, I strongly recommend you try it backwards. It's amazing. Either way you can't go wrong and you have a neck pickup that is not a one trick pony.
