String separation is no joke with these
In the description it mentions string separation, and man, I've never had pickups that could handle heavy distortion and still allow you to hear each individual string ring out. They are my favorite pickups, have them in my PRS S2 and LTD EC-1000, planning on putting them into my custom Mayones as well.
Better than expected
I bought a Jackson Kelly KE3 of my friend that had a Dimebucker in it. It sounded good but not what I was after. Always been a big Seymour Duncan fan so I looked at options and the Pegasus/Sentient combo caught my eye. The Pegasus blew me away, the tone was so nice! It chugs and has great clarity, and the Sentient is beautiful with my clean tone. Super happy I chose these and they… read more look great! If you want killer sound but don't want the same run of the mill pups everyone uses, these are the ones to check out
First Passive SD Pickups that I love!
I have tried quite a few SD pickups over the years. Until the Pegasus / Sentient, i only embraced the heavy tones of the active Blackout AHB-1n neck pickup and the AHB-3b bridge pickup. I have tossed every other SD pickup, and there have been many, in favor of Dimarzio pickups that i have on most of my guitars. And then i bought an ESP LTD MH1000-NT that came with the SD Pegasus… read more / Sentient pickups stock. At first i thought i would end up replacing them...but as always, i give the SD PU's a chance to impress....and man did these pickups impress. The Sentient has a beautiful clean tone that is rich harmonically that sounds amazing both humbucking and split. I write many songs that require a full rich clean tone and i am really enjoying the clarity and tone of this pickup for that purpose. The Pegasus is a great articulate sounding bridge pickup that sounds very balanced with fast attack....great for prog metal riffing both rhythm and lead. Sounds great in high gain mode with tight bass and nice blooming chords with clarity....really great rock, metal, prog metal pickup and most other genres i think. So now i have several guitars with SD pickups on them....never thought i would see the day.. :)
Amazing well rounded tone
I've been expanding my playing styles and just used these in church for the first time. Best time playing ever! Have great tone for metal too. Good mellow cleans.
My Favorite Pickups EVER
I first tried these pickups in 2018. I tried a lot of different pickups in 2019, mainly Seymour Duncan's, & I've come back to these & am sticking with them. Sooo punchy, soo clear & articulate, & it can give you some serious chuggy tones. This is the most versatile set of pickups that I have tried. You get a nice round EQ with the Pegasus, then a nice fluid & sparkly tone with the… read more Sentient. The Sentient also sounds really nice with cleans, like a 59/Jazz hybrid. You have to try these pickups, seriously. You will not be disappointed.
