Saw this capo's mediocre rating and I wanted to up it with another 5 star! I'll say that I wasn't a huge fan of this capo - at first. Eventually I got used to it and so did my guitar. Now I love it. I have one for my steel string as well.

G7 Performance 2 capo for classical guitars

About to order one, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that I won't get string buzz as a couple of reviewers mentioned they did. One of those reviewers, however said that he was disappointed that it didn't work well with his Martin HD-28. Super fine guitar, but this capo is meant for a Classical nylon stringed guitar with a flat fingerboard. His Martin, as do most, if not all steel read more string acoustic guitars, have a curved fingerboard, so it couldn't fit right and I don't doubt that his guitar's strings buzzed. I ordered a G7th 3 from another dealer who assured me it would be good for my classical guitar. It was not, it has a curved bar for a curved fingerbord. I'm keeping it, however because it's fine on my Seagull acousticc and Fender Strat, etc. So, I'm putting 5 stars in the review before I even have one to makd up fof the low mark given by that one reviewer who gave the capo a bad grade when apparently he should have got another type model capo.

I bought this a couple years ago and have been dissapointed with this capo to the point I rarely use it unless it's all I can find at the time. While it's a good concept, the desired ease of use (squeeze lightly) and stings held down with no fuzz (no matter how hard you squeeze) is just not there.

I just bought my 2nd

I liked the one I was using on my acoustic so much I tried to use it on my classical and discovered it was too short. Not a problem. G7 makes a larger one. Works great, it"s easy to use, and protects your guitar

This is an easy product to review. I've used a G7 on all my guitars for years now. The same one, in fact. Wouldn't use any other. But I needed one for classical guitar. I wouldn't have thought that the elegant design (for a capo) could be improved upon, but it was. This capo has been trimmed down to be a bit more slender. The lever now releases in a more natural direction for easier read more movement. And there's a little black dot opposite the release lever to provide a non-slip surface for your finger. Apply as much pressure as you need just by squeezing. It works. Judging from the longevity of my other G7, they're built to last.
