Slightly different than my others
I have purchased four of these capos (two black, one silver, one gold) and it's interesting how *slightly* different they perform. For the gold one, for some reason, I feel I need to squeeze it harder for it to clamp/lock enough to keep the low E and A strings from buzzing. It's not a huge deal but it does cause the strings to go more sharp which reaults in more tuning correcting… read more when putting it on AND taking it off. In a quick live transition it's kind of inconvenient. The others don't have that issue. Buuut, I recently got a guitar with gold hardware and vanity got the best of me and I wanted to have a gold colored capo to match. Haha!
Needs to be tweaked and improved.....
This is a beautiful capo and I love the engineering concept behind the capo. But it really doesn't do a good job of keeping strings from buzzing....and believe me, I tried tweaking the capo positions every which-way. So, I… read more returned it and traded for the G7 Gold Newport capo. It looks and works beautifully. The tightening screw makes all the difference. Still, I'd love to try this capo again when they fix the tightening issues.
Works Great
I love this capo. Easy to adjust to the correct tension, and no tuning issues. My other capos have stayed in my drawer for a while now.
Not good for bending low strings
Easy to use, looks cool, but does not hold my low A and E strings in place when I do pull offs or bends on my strat.
