Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90s
I put these into a Tele Deluxe partscaster with a Bigsby. They are the best P90 type of pickup I've heard. Highly recommended!
Great Sound
I just replaced the stock pickups on my Ibanez as73 and all the wiring, pots, etc.. These Seymour Duncan Phatcats make all the difference in the world. Tone wise this guitar will hold its own with any similar style no matter the price! The clean tone is amazing on the bridge and neck. And thanks Rob Kramer for all of your help. If you need advice, give him a call.
Phat Cat Converision
I needed a P-90 guitar for slide and really didn't have cash for one, with the help from Sweetwater I now have one. After a couple of e-mails she hooked me up with these Pick-ups for really cost effective and great sounding solution. Thanks!
Awesome Pickups
I have a Peavey Patriot guitar from 1986. It's not a great guitar by any means, but it was my first guitar. The one I learned to play on, played in bands in high school and out with my dad who was a full time musician doing folk and classic rock back then. So, it is sentimental to me. At first, I was just going to switch out the pots, switch and jack, but then I figured why not go all the way and replace the pickups as well. I have a PRS with humbuckers and a Danelectro with the lipstick single coils, so I thought I'd try these P90s in here to give me another tonal option. Put them in with CTS 500k pots, a 0.022 Orange Drop Cap and a switchcraft jack and 3-way switch. The old pickups in these Patriot guitars are large, almost humbucker size single coils. I had to enlarge the opening in the pickguard just a little by filing and sanding to get these P90s in. Got it all together and it sounds amazing. Nice and punchy with gain tones with lots of dynamics. Clean tones are beautiful, clear and articulate.
Saved my guitar
Have a 2016 PRS s2 standard that I have never warmed up to. Was looking to move it on but liked the way it felt. Decided to drop a set of these in as I was looking at guitars with p90s. Game changer! Gives me exactly what I was looking for. More clarity but with a nice edge. Roll the tone back a bit on the bridge sounds great. The neck will almost do strat sound but better to my… read more ears. Thanks to Brandt Miller and Sweetwater.
