Big DR Strings fan

I have been using DR strings for decades. I live in NJ, where they are made. They are phenomenal strings. I use their acoustic strings on various instruments and their ukulele strings on my traditionally tuned ukuleles. These Pure Blues strings sound great on my SE FMT HH Telecaster. They last longer than most strings, before "dying." I'm pretty fastidious about string changes read more - as soon as they begin losing their best sound, I change them. When you're working to always play/sound your best, why would you let your strings negatively impact it? This is another great set of strings from DR I could have bought them anywhere, but I always choose Sweetwater for their customer care and great service.

Great tone, great price. Last and lasts!

Got of these put on a yamaha pacifica bout 9 mo ago, still rockin. Solid tone and clarity. Had a set of EB slinkies put on a tele at the same time and not only did they sound thin and yes slinky, were also tinney. They broke and snapped litterally on there own. Wont buy again. The dr blues have a good life and though elixers are great, they are expensive and simply dont fare as read more well for rock and blues, will prob just use on the acoustics. The dr blues like the blue steels sound good but the latter loses its shimmer and tone much faster. This dr blues deliver a good sound that really lasts for the price...

I got three sets of the DR Pure Blues sets on a whim. I just wanted to compare high nickel to the low content that has slowly become the norm. I seemed to remember strings being slightly more mellow when I first started playing. I was told it was because of the high nickel content back then, and how it is so much less now. Now I can't confirm it to really be the case but I CAN read more tell you that these strings sound phenomenal. They just sound bigger for lack of a better term. Unlike some other pure nickel strings, these don't sound dull. They have a nice top end, and harmonics still pull out with pinches I wouldn't use anything else.

Excellent for Single Coils

Love these strings on single coil guitars. You'll hear folks say they are "warmer" and you can even hear it in YouTube vids but once you compensate with the EQ of your amp, you may actually prefer these. They do not sound dull at all, still nice and chimey yet much bluesier. Hard to describe until you actually try them. Give em a shot

These are dynamite

I"ve been using nothing but DR"s Pure Blues and Veritas on my electrics (multiple models) and find them to be crisp on the high end and punchier in the bass and midrange. They have superior tone and stay in tune despite bluesy whole tone bends. They also resist flattening on the feet-side nicely. And lastly, they don"t corrode as quickly, and with my basic string cleaning solution, read more stay fresh longer than some others. I keep my guitars cased when not in use, and even after a month of storage, they don"t oxidize and leave a metallic odor on my hands. I also like the way they"re packaged in pairs, I.e. 1st & 3rd, 2nd & 5th, etc. to help eliminate major imbalances in new tension when changing strings.
