Best bang for your buck upgrade

My MIM Stratocaster sounded lifeless ad felt dull in my hands. Now it rings and feels so nice. Really made a huge difference in making me want to play this guitar. Easy install. Just some minor sanding and perfecto!

Great Upgrade

This made my MIM strat come to life! I also dropped it in to a Charvel which improved tone as well. I will have more of these on hand to upgrade any of my sub $1,000 guitars for sure. It requires a bit of sanding to fit, but if you have a small bit of confidence with using tools you can definitely get the job done. There are plenty of videos online explaining how to install read more it.

Easy to install

The tones are so much more brilliant. Being pre slotted made insulation easy. Now when I make adjustments 4 string height and intonation I don't have to worry about the nut being worn or part of the problem. I did watch a couple YouTube videos on how to remove and install on stratocasters before I started. It truly was a piece of cake. Important to set the two outside strings before read more glue dries so the nut centers all the strings. Hardest thing was filing the overhang so I didn't scratch the guitar finish. Just go slow while filing or use a fine tip grinding tool on a Dremel and hold on tight so as not to run over any wood finish.

Great for American Special Stratocaster

Easy to install. Just be patient and watch some You Tube videos for pointers. Gently sand the width and length until the nut fits the slot in your guitar. The center tab needs to be sanded off. The resulting radius fits the American Special perfectly. After removing the stock nut, I compared it to the new one by dropping them (one at a time) on a granite counter top. The Tusq read more XL "rings" noticeably more. Can my ears tell the difference after it is installed in the guitar? No... What do you have to lose.

Fits Fender American Special Stratocasters

Nice nuts. My American Special has a 9 inch radius in the nut slot so I had to shave offf the tab. I was glad for this because I wanted a solid nut with the bottom of it totally contacting the bottom of the nut slot. I also had to sand the sides as it was a tiny bit wider than the slot. string height is the same so I didnt take any more off the bottom, other than the tab.
