Install Issue
I ordered these based on string spacing - 2 3/16" - for my custom fender telecaster. Could not install until I sanded the edges so they would fit snug together and align properly. That bit of extra work to make them fit dropped the rating to 3 1/2 stars. And no, I did not order the wrong size. 2 1/16" is too narrow.
Installing graph tech nut and saddles on strat
the tone from the new saddles and nut is wonderful.
Great application
I have used Graph Tech products on all of my instruments and on those that I have modified or improved for others. These saddles take awhile to break-in but once they are they provide consistent intonation and I believe they add sustain to the mix.
Saddles Are OK
The Graph Tech saddles are well made, but there is considerably more string surface touching the saddle than my stock saddles. They did not increase my sustain or clarity. They actually sounded worse. I cannot recommend these for better tone or sustain.
Graph Tech string savers
Graph Tech string savers installed perfectly and easily 2 3/16 spacing best new tremolo perfectly lining up exactly spot on over new pickups! Original manufacturer was not correct, it pays to keep looking at your instruments always willing to make an adjustment thanks for the help Sweetwater Tech Phil Potts!
