So glad I chose this over Mojo. My soldering skills are average, and the pots held together well when joint grounding the wires/shields. Took me a while to put together a wiring schematic for both tone push/pulls and figure out which coil to put where to give me a reverse phase and split coil, but I got it done after making a few miswiring corrections. It helps to label the pots read more when wiring so you don't solder the wrong lugs outside the axe. If you are working with a Gibson switch red goes to neck vol., white goes to bridge vol.(seems counter-intuitive). Anyways, I got it done and the hum is minimal if at all present through my little Blackstar HTR1 on clean. Also I have waaaaaay better tone control in all 4 knobs. 10 is 10. 1 is 1. One thing I wish these kits came with was terminal shunts to try out different PP pot positions without having to solder.

Emerson Custom Coil Split wiring kit is THE BOMMMMMB!!

I bought this to go in my Agile Les Paul copy. I already put Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Zebra pickups in this black beauty, but I've really been digging the sound of my other guitars that have the coil split Duncan's. I was hoping to get a little better tone from the quality pots and capacitors in this kit, and get the coil split. Boy, did I get what I was looking for and way more!! read more This thing sounds AMAZING!! I absolutely love it! I can't believe how much versatility this added to my guitar. You can roll off the volume a little or a lot, with or without the coil split and get tons of different combinations of tone. I would recommend this kit to anyone weather you think you like the single coil sound or not, you'll be blown away like I was, with all the different tones you can get with this, especially with some quality pickups. The quality of the components in this kit is top notch. You cannot go wrong with this baby!! [Quick Note]: You WILL NEED the USA size 24 spline knobs. My import copy had smaller pots with 18 spline knobs and they DID NOT FIT. Thanks Sweetwater and Emerson Custom!!!!

I put in Epiphone Lee Malia Rd Artisan

I chose this kit because the Epiphone (Korean) pots taper was lousy. Basically full on or off. Since my guitar has a humbucker in bridge and p94 in neck I only needed one push pull. I wired it as a kill when pulled out in neck position. Tone clarity and all points of volume and tone are so much better. Very happy with kit and this guitar is very enjoyable to play now. Would have read more given 5 stars but had to do some research to wire it correctly and that may be because my guitar is not a LP.

Excellent product

Sound wise, my rating is absolutely a 5 star. It is a fantastic sounding kit. A major upgrade from another home made kit and also from the Gibson PCB that was originally driving my Les Paul standard. My only concern is that the pot positioned for the neck pickup's tone is slightly shorter than the original and makes the knob very very close to the top of the guitar so it is tricky read more to pull (for coil splitting in my case). Maybe that's because of the curved guitar top but still this should be taken into consideration when designing the kit. Anyway, i would still recommend it to everybody looking for a very high quality and excellent sounding kit.

A fantastic upgrade for an Epiphone Les Paul Standard
