Emerson prewired kit

I like how this kit brought my '86 LP Custom to life! It is tight and not mushy! I give it an A-1 rating! I also like my new Orange Terror Stamp!

High Quality Upgrade

I used this kit in my beloved Epiphone LP100 to give it some new life. It all started when the original toggle switch went out some years back, and I replaced it with the Emerson Custom pre-wired toggle since it was made here in the states out of high quality material, and was put together nicely. That was done out of necessity. Fast forward a few years, and I decided I wanted read more to upgrade all the rest of the electronics. Pickups aside, I wanted to stay consistent, so I stuck with EC since I used them for the toggle switch and was very satisfied with it. I was originally going to buy all the pots and caps separately and wire it up myself, but quickly decided to buy the kit when I found out about it and saw how much nicer the soldering was definitely going to be! When all was said and done, I knew I made the right choice as soon as I gave it the first test run! I knew the guitar would sound different with the new pickups, but I was pretty blown away by the results in tandem with this kit. The pots are silky smooth, and I love the response and taper from the tone knobs! It'll stay close to a certain brighter range until you get it a little below 4/10, then drops off fast. It's nice because it's not too bright when it's maxed, and there's a lot of room to play with on the bright range, and it's very clear when you reach that "dirt," and easy to achieve when needed. It's also the first time I've ever had a guitar where I liked how either pickup sounded when the tone knob is zeroed out! It really reminds me of that fuzzy/dirty tone you can hear in music from the 50s or 60s! I definitely didn't like how that setting sounded with the original electronics, and both new pickups have a different manufacturer, so this sound is definitely being achieved through the kit. This shows how important high quality electronics are to your tone, and Emerson Custom is a great company to trust for your guitar guts! This kit is what really got me into them, and I've been trusting them for years now and never had an issue with anything I've purchased from them! Some people don't like the way their tone knobs have that steep drop-off to dirty, but it's pretty convenient for my tastes. And even when you don't change pickups, upgrading to EC parts or kits can make a notable difference to a guitar's tone, and will really bring out the full capabilities of any pickups they're wired to! If you have an old LP sitting around that needs a little love, I strongly recommend this upgrade! You might have a hard time putting it back down afterwards!

Really good

Just installed in a '91 Les Paul where I had already replaced the 300/500k pots with 550k/5% CTS and Russian PIO. The pots were terrible - functional from 7-10 and like an on off switch. I had hoped for 525k 5 or 10% pots, but these are advertised as custom and 7%/500k. Bottom line: smooth, linear volume and tone and the sound is articulate and clear with Burstbucker 1&2.

Best thing that happened to my Les Paul

I'm not a huge electronics guy but the 11 year old electronics were getting old and I wanted a Pearly Gates in the bridge. This kit installs easily. Take your time and know what wires are what and take pictures of the control cavity before you tear your wiring apart. When your finished you will be rewarded with tone that has been hiding in the wood you didn't know existed. Extremely read more happy and as always Mike Grebe and Sweetwater did a bang up job with getting this to me

Met expectations and more. . .

Several wiring kits were researched before selecting the Emerson. My decision to go with Emerson was based on their depth of knowledge and experience with wiring kits. Installation was easy. And the sound was better than expected. Sweetwater delivery and follow up were top notch - as usual.
