Killer Bass!!!
I bought a black Kestrel some years back from my sales guy Evan Mulderhill ( Freaking AWESOME associate !!! ) I never wrote a review of it, so I owe you guys a review. It's a Fantastic choice for the wide variety of music I play from metal to funk. And I mean it. This thing is a beast! True sounds from a beautiful bird! Thanks Evan and PRS !!! God bless !!!
Favorite Bass!
I have owned a PRS Kestrel for about 3 years and I love it. Everyone who hears it compliments me on the sound no matter what rig I play through. All of my buddies like to use it to record too. Everyone who has tried it liked the feel and action. Plays well, easy to get a good sound out of with a near flat amp EQ as well. Normally I turn the tone and both volumes all the way up and… read more then roll off the neck pickup just a hair to get rid of some of the bass cause it can sound a little boomy or muddy. Usually only use the front pickup all the way up on its own for slap riffs (typically play with my fingers but rock/metal and punk.) I like that it's passive too but the pickups are still pretty high output and nice clear tone. Only negative is that sometimes if you run the preamp of your bass amp high but still under clip it can hiss. Otherwise fantastic especially for the price. It's my favorite for line and recording work no matter the genre.
Fantastic
Great bass all around. Great playability and action.

Great bass,nice tone,frets feel good!only regret ,I didn't purchase earlier!would recommend to everyone!
Testing....
I recently purchased a second bass from Sweetwater.the first one was basically a trial run being that I live in Hawaii. Its a big leap of faith to order something sight unseen.only relying on pictures.but it arrived on time and undamaged.I appreciate the follow up to make sure everything was ok.I went and ordered a second more expensive bass with fingers crossed again. But this time… read more I get a call from Wes Anderson saying that during the 55 point inspection they found some things they found some things they were not happy about and swapped it for a flawless one.Now that's customer service.they could've shipped the first one and said this was what you ordered so tough...Nice to know they had my back and Wes was on top of it.I'm pretty sure if I had a problem Sweetwater would rectify it.so much for the brick and mortar stores.
