Great for the price

This is my travel guitar. I wanted to be different than the gs mini crowd (also a great guitar in it's own right). It checks all the right boxes for sound, weight, construction, looks, and playability. It's not a $ guitar so don't expect it to be. It's not cheaply made but needs some TLC when you gets it to polish up little things like slightly rough fret ends and fretboard moisturizing. read more I put retro stings on mine to complete the sound dynamic I was looking for and couldn't be happier. I do wish the gig bag was sturdier and more rigid but it is sufficient for its purpose.

Solid Parlor Guitar

Still only in the first months of owning this guitar. Seems like a solid build and feels good in the hands. One minor flaw in the finish of the neck, not a deal breaker. Playing it stock and it sounds good. Neck is comfortable. Finger picking clear and cutting, strums sound full. A good looking guitar. I'm looking forward to breaking in this guitar…

Viewing this parlor guitar, I was at first hooked by the sheer beauty of the top, but the sound quickly convinced me that this was not just a pretty face, but a great tonal guitar as well. I am incredibly happy with mine.

Nice Quality, Bad Setup

This is a beautiful instrument, small for a petite person or child. I like the sunburst and the satin finish. Mostly, I like the solid top and warm sound. This is a nicely made instrument meant to last. However, the action is horrible beyond first position and the neck is surprisingly thick for an instrument designed for a smaller player. I am not so disappointed that I'll send read more it back, but I have some work to do to fix the action.

This is my 3rd PRS SE Parlor P20 Acoustic guitar

I Love these guitars. I bought the tobacco burst 2 months ago. While waiting for this black top to come in I bought a blue top electric at another site. It is also amazing. BTW. My plan for the third is to restring it with Nylon strings. The guitar arrived. Same as my review on the tobacco burst. I love the way Sweetwater double packs them. Again almost in tune. I've had it read more now for a week. I can get a variety of sounds out of it that are clear with no weird buzzes from the frets. Action is good for me and my wife. Blues, Jazz, Power chords sound great. On a prior post someone didn't like it as A. it is a toy and B. they couldn't play fingerstyle on it. In my humble opinion, for the price vs quality calculation that I make. This ain't no toy!! Now, I have no problem playing fingerstyle at all on this guitar. From Travis picking to block chords this guitar sounds great. For me. And, if I get a round 2 it, I may upload a video. I could see someone that has rounder as opposed to pointier fingertips having an issue. My fingertips are kind of pointy. Makes fingerstyle kind of my default. So, overall I really am enjoying these Parlor size/style guitar.

A great guitar from a great company!

I want to start my review by thanking my sales associate Ashton Boyd. He helped me throughout the process of purchasing the guitar and I cannot be more pleased with the customer service provided by Sweetwater. In regards to the guitar itself, it is a wonderful sounding guitar. I was worried the parlor size would be small sounding, but it sounds great to my ears (granted I am read more a beginner). Very clear sound and balanced. Not the tiny sound you'd expect from a smaller acoustic. Since starting guitar 4 years ago, I had dreamed of one day owning a PRS, but never could afford one. I stumbled across this guitar while shopping for an acoustic and knew this one was the one. The construction of the guitar is great for what you pay. Bone nut and saddle is surprising and the ebony fretboard and bridge are very nice! PRS made a premium guitar with a budget friendly price. I would recommend this to any player wanting an acoustic guitar or wanting to buy a PRS without a big budget.

Delightfully different

My other guitar is a Yamaha FG-335II dreadnought that I bought in 1983, and twice in the past five years I tried finding something new to replace it. Alas, nothing in my budget (under about $800) sounded any better overall. So I decided to go for something completely different and this is it. Sure, it lacks the warmth and resonance of the Yamaha, but it makes up for it with clarity read more and excellent projection for its size. It's better for vocal accompaniment because I can hear the notes more distinctly. Fretboard feel is excellent, and hey! – it's 1.5 pounds lighter than the Yamaha! And not bad looking to boot. BTW, bought the acoustic only version because I'm not a big fan of pickups. Prefer a good mic.

Very happy with this little guitar!!!

I was looking for a parlor guitar these showed up on the Google search. I did my research on the guitar and Sweetwater. I'm very happy that I decided to go this guitar and Sweetwater. After I ordered the guitar I received a courtesy call from my sales person, Alden. I thought that was a nice touch. It arrived 3 days after I ordered it. Beautiful tobacco sunburst. It was very well read more protected for shipping double boxed and injected foam. Was inside gig bag. Gig bag is nice too. Was almost in tune had to adjust the low A and E strings slightly. Heavier strings set low with nice action and no buzz. Doesn't sound tinny at all for a parlor guitar. My wife is learning how to play. I started her 2 months ago on nylon strings. She switched this weekend to playing this guitar with ease. She says it feels more comfortable. I like playing it so much I decided to buy another of the same model as soon as its available. Going with the black top this time.

Incredible!

I have to say this has been an amazing experience. Customer Service out the Wazoo! Guitar Center who? I have always loved acoustic guitars but never liked the bulkiness of full size dreadnaughts and such. For me the parlor size is perfect, and the PRS hands down can hold its own even without an amp, no loss in tone either and a comfortable joy to play and look at! If I get some read more chances at playing out, a couple mics and my Rockville amd and speakers will do the trick or a nice acoustic amp and pickup and we're done. Beautiful Guitar

Unimpressive guitar

From the reviews I found online I was very hopeful I was going to find a great value parlor guitar. Not the case. This guitar is cheaply made and feels like it's plastic. When you fingerpick with it, it gives zero good vibes! Typically Parlor guitars can play the heck out of things like fingerstyle blues but this guitar didn't. Maybe if you upgrade the saddle, nut and put better read more strings on it, it might be okay. but it will forever feel cheap in your hands. The action was bad making it hard to play(saddle and nut need to be filed down at the very least). It did sound decent while strumming so if that's what you want it for and the price point fits your needs you might be okay. It does look nice in person as well. But in my opinion, A Taylor GS Mini would be a much better guitar at the price point. I'd suggest playing one of these in person before ordering online. Save yourself the return shipping costs.

A Great Guitar!

Fantastic sound and great appearance. Much better quality than I expected. Plays smooth and effortless and worth way more than the price! The gig bag is a quality piece too.

Impressive little thing

I have always preferred the smaller, more comfortable size of a parlor guitar but I have never been a big fan of the sound. This guitar sounds like something it's not. The projection and sustain on this instrument are incredible, I absolutely cannot set it down. It's a beautiful instrument and I wasn't disappointed when I finally saw it in person. I get so many compliments on this read more little thing. And the customer service at Sweetwater is always impeccable. Thank you Patrick!
