*CORRECTION* DOES work on Kramer Baretta Special
This nut DID work on my Kramer Baretta Special. I didn't do any sanding or adjusting. It slightly protrudes from the edges of the fingerboard, so minimal sanding/shaping may be desired, but I put it on as is and it plays just fine.
Does not work on Kramer Baretta Special
I am not knocking off any points because this is not a product issue. An online forum recommended this specific item for the Kramer Baretta Special, but the slots are not high enough. It is my mistake for not measuring the original nut myself. This is a GREAT product in general, and I have used a number of them over the years with great results.
Perfect Fit, No Filing Needed!
Installed this on my 2002 Epiphone Flying V and it was a drop-in perfect fit! Didn't have to sand it down or anything like that! Super stoked that it was this easy... got super low-action the way I like it, and the guitar resonates so much better.
Best nut on the market, IMO
1st off, check the SN# of your guitar & make sure of the year of manufacture. The wrong nut will cause you grief. Watch the video on installation from Graph Tech & follow the steps exactly. You want a perfect fit for the nut to make a difference. I have a pre-2014 Epiphone ES-335 that is set up perfect, but was still missing something. Some strings were muddy sounding & being overpowered… read more by others. I installed this Graph Tech nut, installation was around 1 1/2 hrs. Wow, what a difference! Each string & note is clear with better tone then before. All strings have better harmonics & sustain then before. When tuning, the strings glide smoothly over the nut without any binding. I played some chords & riffs thur my looper before I changed the nut, then played with it after the change, same amp settings. It sounded like a different guitar all together. IMO, the single best improvement to your guitar is installing a Graph Tech nut.
Great nut..but check your measurements
This is a great replacement nut for your Epiphone guitars. However, be sure to check the measurements for your particular guitar. This nut is not the correct size for an Epi with the '60s slim taper neck. You need part number 6061-00. Unfortunately, Sweetwater only caries this nut in the white/bone color and not in black. I have purchased several items from Sweetwater and as long… read more as they have the product I need they will always be my first choice.
